Engine stop (VW Polo 4)

If the engine has been running at high speed for a long time, let it idle for about two minutes before turning off the ignition.

Warnings:

• When you stop, for example at a traffic light, press the brake pedal. For safety, also apply the parking brake, especially on an incline.
• When revving the engine on a stopped vehicle, make sure the indicator on the instrument panel shows that the gearbox is in neutral. If any gear is engaged, the vehicle may move and get into an accident.
• Do not leave the vehicle without turning off the engine.
• When leaving the vehicle, switch off the engine and engage a gear appropriate to the situation. If you need to leave the vehicle with the engine running, apply the parking brake and move the selector to position N.
• After the engine has stopped, the cooling fan may continue to run for up to 10 minutes with the ignition off. It may even suddenly start to rotate. Therefore, be careful when working in the engine compartment.

To stop the engine:

1. Check the enabled mode using the indicators on the instrument panel.

2. Stop the engine by turning the ignition key.

3. After a few seconds, release the brake pedal.
