Central lock (VW Polo 4)

The central lock allows you to lock and unlock all doors from the inside. The central lock control button is located in the driver's door release handle. The button also works when the ignition is off.



To lock all doors, press the button on side A. When using the central lock, it is not possible to open the doors of the passenger compartment and luggage compartment. This prevents unauthorized entry into the vehicle.

If the car is centrally locked, you can unlock each door individually by pulling the door so that the door lock button rises. The door can then be opened from the inside in the usual way.

You can deactivate the central lock by pressing the central lock button on side B. All door locks will open.

Anti-theft alarm with interior monitoring

The anti-theft alarm makes it difficult for an unauthorized person to enter the car. If someone tries to enter the car, the system turns on the light and sound signals for about 30 seconds. The anti-theft alarm is automatically turned on immediately when the car is locked. The activation of the system is confirmed by a short flashing of the turn signal.



The anti-theft alarm is triggered if

• one of the doors or the hood opens;
• the car is unlocked mechanically with a key;
• the ignition is turned on;
• movement detected inside the vehicle.

The system is deactivated if the doors are opened using the remote control.

If the remote control system does not work, open the doors manually.

Open the driver's door with the spare key. The anti-theft system remains armed, but the alarm does not sound.

Turn on the ignition within 15 seconds. If the immobilizer has recognized the key, the alarm is deactivated. If the ignition is not turned on within 15 seconds, the alarm is activated again.

If you turn the key to the lock position twice, the anti-theft alarm is deactivated. The anti-theft alarm is triggered if

• one of the doors or the hood opens;
• the ignition is turned on.

When the car is opened legally, the hazard warning lights are deactivated.
