Climatronic automatically maintains the selected temperature in the passenger compartment. To do this, in addition to the temperature, the fan speed and the distribution of air flows throughout the cabin are automatically controlled.
The system also takes into account solar radiation, which reduces the need for manual adjustment.
We recommend the following settings for all seasons. Set the temperature to 22°C and press the AUTO button. If the air does not require cooling, press the ECON button. This installation allows you to quickly achieve comfortable conditions in the cabin.
System operation
When the ignition is switched on, the system starts working automatically. Values 2, 3, 7 and 8 appear on the display.
If the settings are made in automatic mode, they are saved until the ignition is turned off. Only the recirculation mode is canceled after 20 minutes.
Auto mode settings can be changed by pressing any buttons. To switch from degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit, press and hold button 16, then press button 12. The display will show the temperature in the corresponding unit.
Notes on automatic mode (AUTO)
The interior temperature can be easily set by turning knob 10. The selected value is saved until a different temperature is selected. The temperature in the cabin can be set within the range from +18°С to +29°С. In this range, it is automatically adjusted. If the selected temperature is below +18°C, the display shows the message L0 (low). If the selected temperature is higher than +29°C, the display shows the message HI (high). In these cases, the system operates with maximum cooling or heating. The temperature is not regulated.
In some cases, the system exhibits unexpected properties. For example, after starting a cold engine, the air from the system is directed mainly to the footwells. Although this is understandable - damp air does not enter the glass and the glass does not fog up.
Deviations from automatic mode
In almost all cases, the automatic mode provides the most comfortable conditions in the cabin all year round. However, in some cases it may be necessary to change the settings. Climatronic also tries to maintain automatic mode in these situations.
The fan speed and the corresponding air speed can be changed by turning knob 1. The airflow speed is shown on the display as a number of thick vertical lines.
By pressing button 11
- ECON·mode is disabled
- air recirculation mode is turned off
- blown windshield and side windows (if the side deflectors are directed towards the windows).
The distribution of air flows in the passenger compartment can be changed by pressing buttons 13,14 and 15. Buttons 11, 13,14 and 15 can be used in any combination.
Button 16 (ECON) turns off the cooling mode, although the heating is automatically regulated. ECON·mode is also deactivated by pressing button 11. To activate ECON·mode, press button 16. Please note that when ECON·mode is activated, the desired temperature cannot be lower than the ambient temperature. The combination of ECON and recirculation modes is only possible if button 17 and then 16 are pressed first.
Air recirculation can be switched on by pressing button 17. Symbol 5 will appear on the display.
When the recirculation mode is activated, the interior is isolated from the surrounding air, which allows you to get rid of outside dust or unpleasant odors. Operation in the recirculation mode allows you to accelerate the heating of the air in the cabin. However, it is not recommended to use the recirculation mode for a long time and, as soon as possible, you should return to the system operation mode with an inflow of outside air. After turning off the recirculation mode, the system works in the usual way - outside air enters the passenger compartment.
Do not smoke in the cabin when air recirculation is on, because in this case, the air from the cabin enters the evaporator and deposits accumulate in it that smell bad. You can get rid of them only by replacing the evaporator.
