Work execution procedure
Place the radiator frame in the service position.
Remove the vibration damper.
NOTE: When removing the oil seal, be careful not to damage the seating surface.
Carefully remove the old sealing ring using the T20143/2 puller (fig. 2.174).
Remove any remaining oil from the crankshaft journal using a clean rag.
NOTE: Remove the backup ring from the seal immediately prior to installation.
Connect the mounting sleeve T10196/1 and the mounting sleeve T10196/2. Put the seal A on the mounting sleeve T10196/2 until it stops (fig. 2.175).
Disconnect the mounting bushings.
Install the T10196/2 mounting sleeve together with the oil seal onto the crankshaft sealing gasket and tighten the knurled head bolts A by hand (fig. 2.176).
Press the oil seal using the T1096/3 mounting sleeve until it stops.
