Starter (cars with 2.0 l TDI engines and MQ500 manual transmission) (VW Tiguan 1)

• 1 - Connecting the B+ wire to the starter
• 2 - Nut for fastening the connection of the B+ wire to the starter, M8, 15 Nm
• 3 - Starter mounting bolts, M12, 75 Nm
• 4 - Protective cap
• 5 - Wire holder mounting nuts, M8, 15 Nm
• 6 - Wire holder
• 7 - Starter

Air filter housing to body mounting bolt, 10 Nm

Removal and installation the starter

Disconnect the battery. Pull up and remove the engine cover "arrows".



Disconnect the plug connector, open the spring clamp "2" using the spring clamp pliers -VAS 5024A- and remove the vacuum hose "3".



Unscrew the air filter housing mounting bolt "arrow".





Unlock the arrow tabs and remove the casing.



Remove the "arrow" hose from the air filter housing and remove the hose. Pull the air filter housing up out of its mounts and remove it.



Slide the protective cap -in the direction of the arrow- off the traction relay.



Unscrew the positive cable "1" and disconnect the plug connector of terminal 50 "2".




Unscrew nuts "2" from the starter mounting bolts and remove the wire holder "1".



Unscrew the upper mounting bolt of the starter "arrow". Remove the noise-insulating casing.



Unscrew the lower starter mounting bolt "arrow". Remove the starter from the car downwards.



Installation in reverse order, taking into account the following: Tighten the threaded connections to the specified tightening torques.
