Remove cover 1 with fuel pump control unit 2 from the fuel delivery module (fig. 2.204).

Disconnect 5-pin plug A and fuel line B from flange (fig. 2.205).
Note: To disconnect the fuel line, press the retaining ring.
Note: In vehicles with additional heating, the plug and fuel line must also be disconnected from the metering pump.
Open the retaining ring with a key.
Lift the sensor flange.
Insert the fuel extraction device suction hose as far as possible into the fuel tank and extract the fuel.
If it was only necessary to pump fuel out of the tank, the sensor flange should be reinstalled.
