Verification conditions
Inspect and make sure all vacuum hoses on the intake manifold are undamaged and properly connected.
Checking procedure
Pic. 2.69. vacuum hose
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold flap valve to the intake manifold from the intake manifold (pic. 2.69).
Connect a hand vacuum pump to the intake manifold.
Tighten the knurled screw on the vacuum pump.
Operate the hand vacuum pump until the pressure gauge reaches 0.3 bar.
Note: To create a vacuum of 0.3 bar, due to the large volume in the vacuum reservoir, it may be necessary to pump up to 20 times.
Follow the pressure for about 3-5 minutes.
If the vacuum remains at 0.3 bar, the vacuum reservoir in the intake manifold is OK.
If the pressure rises, replace the intake manifold.
