Note: Measurements to determine the tread pattern height should be taken in the main tread grooves.
Note: Do not measure on TWI (Tread Wear Indicator means. tread wear indicator).
The tread depth should be measured in the main grooves of the tread in the most heavily worn areas of the tire. The positions of the tread wear indicators are visible on the shoulder of the tread.
Instead of "TWI" the "D" symbol or the manufacturer's "brand logo" may be indicated.
The tread wear indicator protrusions are 1.6 mm high. This value is the minimum tread depth required by law in Germany.
Other countries may have different regulations.

The tread wear indicator marks must not be taken into account when measuring. The value at the deepest point of the tread groove is decisive (Fig. 4.5).
