The location of the control units of the central locking system on the car
Elements of the central locking system that controls the door lock
- 1 - protective cover,
- 2 - door lock button rod,
- 3 - door lock button,
- 4 - internal handle for opening the door,
- 5 - pull of the inner handle for opening the door,
- 6 - executive electric motor,
- 7 - door lock,
- 8 - lock closing device
The central locking system consists of a control unit, two or four door controls, four door locks, and an electric motor and switch in the boot lid/tailgate.
When opening or closing the locks of the front doors or the luggage compartment, the central locking system simultaneously opens or closes the locks of all doors, the fuel tank cap and, depending on the position of the trunk lid lock, also this lock.
The central locking system also provides the ability to open either of the two front doors, as well as the luggage compartment, while all other locks remain locked.
In a central locking system with five control devices, if the individual door control device fails, the rest of the system remains operational. Also, the communication between the central control unit and the control unit in the door is carried out only by two wires, see fig. The location of the control units of the central locking system on the car.
The central control unit is located under the carpet on the floor of the car in front of the driver's seat. The door control units are located on the power window motor. On models from IX.1996 to IX.1997, the control unit in the driver's door is located under the control panel on the door.
The central locking system has the following functions:
- central locking of the trunk lid/rear door lock,
- interior lighting control,
- remote control,
- sunroof control,
- anti-theft control,
- central locking of the locks of the rear doors, in which the power windows are installed,
- when the airbag is deployed, the door locks are immediately unlocked,
- system self-diagnosis,
- Several modes can be used to control door locks.
On a car equipped with a central locking system, the following devices are installed in the door:
- door lock,
- 5 microswitches that transmit information to the control unit about the position of the door lock. There are three microswitches in the tailgate lock,
- two door handles,
- lock cylinder,
- door lock motor (see fig. Elements of the central locking system that controls the door lock).
