Welding the bumper (VW Passat B4)

Attach a small diameter tip to the hair dryer nozzle to produce a directed stream of hot air.

Heat the parts of the bumper to be welded with a hair dryer, moving the hair dryer to ensure uniform melting of the surfaces to be welded.

Prepare a thin welding rod from the plastic from which the bumper is made, cutting it out of the rejected bumper.

Holding the rod at right angles to the crack, weld beads of plastic on both sides of the crack.

Weld the plastic rod into the crack. Cut the weld seam flush with a cutter. Sand the seam with 150 grit sandpaper without water, then polish with water with 600 grit sandpaper. Apply a layer of special paint for plastics to the bumper.
