To prevent corrosion of the front part of the car (for example, side parts, longitudinal beams and partitions) and the power unit, the engine compartment and the brake system, front axle and steering components located therein must be treated with a high-quality solid preservative. In all cases, this should be done, of course, after washing the engine.

Caution: Before washing the engine, cover the alternator and brake fluid reservoir with plastic bags. The alternator bearings are protected from water, but when cleaning, which can be done, for example, with a steamer, there is a risk of bearing leaching due to oil-dissolving additives. This can result in undesirable phenomena such as bearing noise or even bearing failure.

When the vehicle is first put into operation, short-term smoking may occur due to the coating burning off from highly heated parts. After treatment with a solid preservative, clean all joints and hinges and treat with MoS ₂ grease.
