Examination
Turn on the ignition and operate the windshield washers. If water does not spray onto the windshield, disconnect the plug.
Connect a voltmeter to both contacts of the plug.
Turn on the ignition and use the windshield washers. The voltmeter should show approximately the battery voltage (12 V), otherwise check the supply wires in accordance with the electrical diagram.
Reconnect the plug and operate the windshield washers again. If the pump does not work, although voltage is supplied, then replace the pump.
Replacement
Disconnect the plug.
Remove the windshield washer reservoir by disconnecting the hose to the windshield washers "A" and, if available, the hose to the rear window washer "B". Plug the hoses with suitable plugs. Unscrew the plastic nut and remove the reservoir from the bracket.
Note: If the pump is to be replaced, have a new pump available.
Remove the pump from the tank and plug the hole in the tank with your thumb.
Insert a new pump, which will inevitably cause some fluid to leak out.
Install the tank on the bracket and tighten it with a nut.
Put on the hoses.
Connect the plug.
Check the operation of the windshield washer pump.
