Examination
Switch on the ignition and operate the windshield washers. If water does not splash onto the front glass, disconnect the plug.
Connect a voltmeter to both pins of the plug.
Switch on the ignition and operate the windshield washers. The voltmeter should show approximately the voltage of the battery (12 V), otherwise check the supply wires according to the wiring diagram.
Connect the plug and operate the windshield washers again. If the pump does not work, although voltage is applied, then replace the pump.
Replacement
Disconnect plug.
Remove the windshield washer reservoir by disconnecting the hose to the windshield washer -A- and, if present, the hose to the rear window washer -B-. Plug the hoses with suitable plugs. Unscrew the plastic nut and remove the tank from the bracket.
Caution: If the pump is to be replaced, prepare a new pump.
Pull the pump out of the tank and plug the hole in the tank with your thumb.
Insert a new pump, some fluid will inevitably leak out.
Install the tank on the bracket and fasten with a nut.
Put on the hoses.
Connect plug.
Check the operation of the washer pump.
