
- 1 - main shut-off valve rod

Note: Starting with vehicles No.31KE206000, a modified traction is installed (elongated black shell), the characteristic feature is a blue color stripe.
- 4 - draft from the air distribution control handle (lower arm) to the central valve

Removal
Remove the heating system control unit.
Unscrew and remove the bottom pedal cover.
Remove the footwell air duct nozzle.
Disconnect the heating system rods from the control levers and pull them out. To do this, press the spring clamps of the rod casings with a screwdriver.
Installation
First, install the heating system rods on the control unit. To do this, hang the rods on the control unit with the sides marked with white and red stripes. Place the rod casings against the control unit until they stop, then press the pressure springs with pliers and secure.
Install the control unit.
Hang the rods on the control levers and secure them with pressure springs.
Adjustment
Turn the fan control knob to the "O" position.

Press the main shut-off valve lever all the way down and secure the rod casing.
Turn the temperature control knob all the way to the "kalt" (cold) position.

Press the temperature flap lever all the way down and secure the blue casing of the rod.
Turn the air distribution knob all the way to the "Defrost" position (heated windshield).

Press the footwell/windshield defroster flap lever all the way down and secure the black rod cover.

Note: Starting with vehicle #31 KE206000, a modified footwell/windshield defroster flap rod is installed (elongated black shell, characteristic feature - blue color stripe). This reduces the risk of the cable breaking/breaking. If it is necessary to install it on a car of an earlier model, cut out the stop (arrow) for the cable traction casing at the control unit with a knife. Insert the cable traction casing so that the blue colored ring fits into the cut-out recess.
Turn the air distribution handle all the way to the position "Schalttafelausstromer" (instrument panel heating).

Press the central damper lever all the way down and secure the black casing of the rod.
Checking the adjustment: Turn the knobs on the heating system control panel from stop to stop. The flaps should move audibly from one extreme position to the other.
Install the lower cowl and footwell defroster.
