Removal and installation the dust and pollen filter (VW Passat B3)

Since 1/92, VW PASSAT vehicles are equipped with dust and pollen filters at the owner's request. The filter element must be replaced every 15,000 km. The filter can also be installed in vehicles of earlier production.

Removal

Remove the water drainage cover by turning the fastening buttons 1/4 turn (90°) and pulling the cover off the engine compartment bulkhead.



Press the retaining plates on the filter element and remove the element.

Installation

Check the patency of the drainage casing drains and clean them if necessary.

Install the new filter element and secure it.

Install and secure the water drainage casing.
