37.0. Front passenger seat belt
Four-door Golf cars
1 - self-locking bolt. Tightening torque 40 Nm. The bolt must be replaced with a new one after each dismantling. Before unscrewing the bolt, heat it with air from a hair dryer, covering the seat belt tape with a damp cloth
2 - seat belt fastening bracket. Attention! In two-door vehicles, the seat belt is secured at the bottom to the belt guide bracket
3 - bolt. Tightening torque 40 Nm
4 - Belt rewind device. To avoid the seat belt tensioner being triggered, switch off the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal first, then the positive potential terminal. The negative battery terminal should be wrapped with insulating tape
5 - Seat belt tensioner plug. Before disconnecting the plug, remove any static electricity by touching the body or door lock with your hand. Always observe safety precautions regarding airbags
6 - two bolts. Tightening torque 4.5 Nm
7 - belt guide bracket
8 - bolt. Tightening torque 40 Nm
9 - bracket for fastening the belt to the rack
10 - Front passenger seat belt buckle




Removal



1. Remove the threshold trim.

2. You screw bolts 3 and 1 (see illustration).

2. You screw bolts 3 and 1 (see illustration).


3. Remove the seat belt tape from the guide bracket 2 and remove the bracket (see illustration 37.2).

Installation



The installation of the bracket and belt is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, bolt 1 is tightened with a force of 20 Nm, and bolt 3 - 40 Nm.

Please note: The seat belt fastening on Touran vehicles is the same as on Golf vehicles.
