Execution order
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Using a special tool VW 558 or a screwdriver, lock the flywheel by the teeth of the flywheel ring gear to prevent it from turning.
3. Gradually loosen the flywheel mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence, turning each bolt half a turn until the spring force is released and the bolts can be removed by hand.
4. Remove the flywheel.
5. Remove the clutch disc.

6. Using a screwdriver blade, remove the retaining ring (A) holding the trip disk (B) and remove the lever and retaining ring.
7. Remove the shut-off disk.

8. Using the special tool VW 558, secure the pressure plate from turning and unscrew it from the crankshaft. If you do not have a special tool, hold the pressure plate from turning with a screwdriver blade.
9. Remove the pressure plate and steel plate.
10. Wipe the flywheel with a rag soaked in gasoline.
