Order of execution
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Using the VW 558 special tool or a screwdriver, use the teeth of the flywheel ring gear to block the flywheel from turning.
3. Gradually loosen the flywheel bolts in a diagonal sequence by turning each bolt half a turn until the spring action stops and the bolts can be unscrewed by hand.
4. Remove flywheel.
5. Remove the clutch disc.
6. Using a screwdriver blade, remove the retaining ring (A), holding the trip disk (IN) and remove the lever and retaining ring.
7. Remove the disable disk.
8. Using the VW 558 special tool, secure the pressure plate from turning and unscrew it from the crankshaft. In the absence of a special tool, hold the pressure plate from turning with a screwdriver blade.
9. Remove pressure plate and steel plate.
10. Wipe the flywheel with a rag soaked in gasoline.
