The location of the oil filler plug of the gearbox on models with engines 1.8 / 2.3-I
The oil in the mechanical box should not be changed.
A 17mm socket wrench must be used to loosen the oil filler screw.
Topping up requires SAE 75W90 specification G50 oil.
Order of execution
1. Place the vehicle on a lift in a horizontal position.
2. Remove the lower engine mudguard.
3. Unscrew the oil filler plug from the gearbox, which is located in front of the left drive shaft.
4. Check the oil level. The oil level is correct when it is at the lower edge of the threaded hole.
5. If necessary, add oil through the oil filler hole.
6. Screw in the oil filler plug and tighten to 25 Nm.
Warning: The gearbox housing may be made of aluminum or magnesium alloy. If a new oil filler screw is installed, it must be matched by number to the appropriate gearbox, as the plugs have a different coating. Contact corrosion may occur if the wrong plug is used.
