2. Unscrew, remove the speedometer drive mechanism and wipe it with a clean cloth.

3. Insert the speedometer drive mechanism back into the gearbox and remove it again. Check the oil level in the final drive, which should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the speedometer drive mechanism.
4. If necessary, add oil of the required specification. The amount of oil between the MIN and MAX marks is 0.1 liters. If the oil level is above the norm, pump out excess oil using a syringe with a tube.
5. Install the speedometer drive mechanism into the gearbox and tighten it.
Warning: If the level in the final drive of the gearbox is checked and it is found that there is too much or too little oil in the final drive, then the oil is exchanged with the planetary gearbox. In this case, you must contact a VW service station to correct the fault.
