In freezing temperatures, before turning on the windshield wipers for the first time during a trip, you should check whether the brushes are frozen to the glass.

To remove the wiper blade, pull the wiper arm away from the glass until it locks. Rotate the blade 90°, then squeeze the locking clip and separate the blade from the arm.
