Rear shock absorber
- 1 - gas-filled shock absorber;
- 2 - safety cap;
- 3 - protective cover;
- 4 - buffer;
- 5 - upper shock absorber mount;
- 6 - self-locking nut, 25 Nm. A new nut must be used during installation;
- 7 - decorative cap
Removal
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the wheel speed sensor.
2. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire from the clamp.
3. With the vehicle standing on its wheels, unscrew the bolts (1) from under the vehicle that secure the upper shock absorber to the vehicle body.
4. To relieve the rear suspension spring, slowly raise the rear of the vehicle until the wheel is 10 cm off the ground.
5. Remove the rear spring from its supports and remove it from under the vehicle. If necessary, have an assistant rotate the rear suspension beam downwards.
6. Remove the nut and bolt from the lower shock absorber mount, then remove the shock absorber from under the vehicle.
Installation
1. Install the shock absorber in place, insert the shock absorber mounting bolt and screw the nut onto it without tightening it completely.
2. Install the spring so that the outer coils of the spring are correctly positioned on the supports.
3. Lower the vehicle to the ground just enough so that the rear wheels are on the ground but the rear shock upper mounting bolts are still accessible.
4. Secure the upper part of the shock absorber to the body with new bolts and tighten them to a torque of 75 Nm.
5. Lower the vehicle completely and place one person in the back seat.
6. Tighten the rear shock absorber lower mount bolt and nut to 60 Nm.
