Removal



1. Turn off the ignition and remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the windshield wiper arms.

3. Remove the rubber seal (1) from the engine compartment bulkhead (see figure Location of screws and seals of the engine compartment bulkhead).

4. Remove the screws (2).

5. Remove the pollen filter cover.

6. On both sides of the vehicle, release the windshield fairing by pressing the latches in the direction of the arrows.

7. Remove the deflector grille by sliding its top out of the guide.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.

9. Unscrew the nuts securing the rods and wiper drive levers (see figure Location of the nuts for fastening the wiper rods and arms).

10. Remove the windshield wiper mechanism from the vehicle.

11. Using a screwdriver blade, remove the windshield wiper links from the engine crank (see figure Windscreen wiper drive elements).

12. Unscrew the nut securing the crank to the electric motor shaft. While doing this, hold the crank from turning. By moving the crank to the sides, remove it from the seat cone of the electric motor shaft.

13. Remove the three bolts and remove the motor from the wiper bracket.


Installation



1. When installing a new wiper motor, reset it to its original position. To do this, connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor and connect the ground wire to the battery. Briefly turn the wiper mode on and off. This will reset the wiper motor. Remove the ground wire from the battery and disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.

2. Install the electric motor on the windscreen wiper mechanism and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 8 Nm.

3. Install the crank on the motor shaft so that it is in line with the windshield wiper rods. Tighten the crank mounting nut to 20 Nm.

4. Attach the windshield wiper rods to the crank.

5. Install the windshield wiper mechanism into the vehicle and secure with bolts.

6. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.

7. Install the deflector grille so that its side is aligned with the rubber pad (indicated by the arrow) on the front pillar.

8. Install the pollen filter cover.

9. Install the deflector grille mounting screws and install the rubber seal on the top of the engine compartment bulkhead.

10. Install the windshield wiper arms.
