Secure the removed drive shaft in a vise.
circlip pliers (in fig. 377 shows special pliers VW16) remove the ring that secures the position of the hinge on the drive shaft.
Using a hammer and punch, remove the cover from the hinge (pic. 378). The punch should be applied in different places so as not to distort the frame of the cap.
Place the drive shaft under the press and remove from the hinge.
Remove the spring conical ring from the neck.
Thoroughly clean the drive shaft before installing a new joint.
Put a spring conical ring on the neck, with a large diameter to the hinge.
Slide the joint onto the drive shaft under pressure. The drive shaft must be well supported from below.
Insert a new circlip into the groove and, if necessary, crimp it well with tongs.
