The anti-vibration weight acts as a vibration damper and consists of two parts connected by pins. If the axle shaft is to be replaced, it is necessary to knock out the pin shown by the arrow in fig. 381, remove the anti-vibration weight and put it on a new drive shaft.
When installing the anti-vibration weight, take care of the sheath that protects the drive shaft. A piece of adhesive tape should be placed in the middle of the anti-vibration weight so that it cannot move along the axis of the shaft. Pay attention to the correct installation of the load. There must be a gap between the cone of the drive shaft and the end of the surface of the anti-vibration weight (see fig. 381).
