Windshield wiper (VW Golf 2)

The windshield wiper assembly consists of an electric motor 8 (figure 11.13) with transmission, system of levers 5 and wiper arms 2 All parts are attached to bracket 6. The wipers are started by the right lever located under the steering wheel. Switching off the wiper in any position ensures that the arm returns to its original position.

Wiper blade replacement

Press end 1 as shown by the arrow and pull out the wiper blade in direction 2. Put on the wiper blade by inserting K-2 in the opposite direction until the safety tooth snaps in (photo 11.30).



The wiper arm is replaced by lifting up the arm guard 1 (figure 11.13) and opening the nut that secures the shoulder (photo 11.31).





Now you need to unscrew the nut and remove the shoulder from the drive axle (photo 11.32)

Installing the wiper arm

Set the distance of the wiper blade from the lower edge of the front glass to 55-60 mm.
