The connection diagram is the current circuit with the shortest cable line (electric current line). The connection diagram is drawn regardless of the mounting location in the vehicle. Multifunctional structural parts can be distributed over several lines.
Central part of electrical equipment
As already mentioned, the central part of the electrical equipment includes: fuse box, plug-in panels for multiple relays (designation "J") and connections of multi-pin plugs. Plugs are listed alphabetically (see fig.). The combined alphanumeric designations on the bottom panel of the neutral electrical equipment provide information on the loading of wires by plugs. For example, C5 is pin 5 on multi-pin plug C.
Electric current distribution
At the very top of the central part of the electrical equipment there is a so-called plus-side. From here, the electric current coming from the battery or from the generator is distributed. In the lower part, the wires branch out to various current consumers.
Circuit breakers
Fuses located in the holder are marked with the letter "S" and number. The numbering corresponds to their location in the holder. In addition, the permissible electrical load is indicated: for example, a rated current of 10 A.
Wires
As for electrical wires, the cross section of their metal core is indicated. For example, "0,5" means 0.5 sq. mm. In addition, there is an abbreviation for colored cables. The designations are deciphered in this way: bl - blue; br - brown; ge - yellow; gn - green: gr - grey; li - lilac; ro (or rt) - red; sw - black; ws - white.
Plug connections
Plug connections are marked "T", with the exception of the multi-pin plug in the central part of the electrical equipment. The letter is followed by a number. From it you can understand what kind of plug in question. For example, T3 is a triple plug. With the help of an explanation to the wiring diagram, you can find out where this plug is located in the car.
Structural parts
All electrical components in the wiring diagram have letter designations, if necessary, also with numbers. Designations are unified for all models "Volkswagen" And "Audi". For example, A is a battery; E - manual switch; L and M - incandescent lamps; V is the engine.
Switch symbols
Standard symbols are used to depict structural parts, with all switches and contacts shown in the neutral position.
Terminal designations
two digits (if necessary with letters on the wiring diagram) can be found identically on the corresponding component.
Electric current lines
At the bottom of the bottom panel are numbered wiring diagrams. Each structural part has at least one own electric current line. If the streamline ends in a box, then it has a number indicating where the streamline continues.
Internal connections are not wires, but metal bars or bridges. In the connection diagram, they are shown as thin transverse lines.
"Weight"
The body, engine or gearbox serves to reverse the flow of electric current in automotive electrical equipment. It is about the so-called "mass". On the connection diagram "weight" shown below as a thin transverse line If the electrical component cannot be connected directly to "weight", then the connection is made through the so-called mass point, which is indicated in the diagram by a number in a circle below, on the mass line.
