Removal and installation the carburetor (VW Golf 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery and remove the air filter as described earlier.

2. Disconnect the throttle and air control cables (if available) flaps from the carburetor.

3. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the carburetor and plug it, remove the vacuum tube and disconnect the wire from the solenoid valve.

4. Remove the bolts or nuts that are located either at the top of the carburetor or under the intake manifold (figure W:8), and remove the carburetor.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Replace the gasket between the carburetor and the intake manifold. Start the engine, check the carburetor for fuel leaks.
