The flashing and hazard warning signal cycle is set by a relay. The hazard warning signal is connected to a relay without a fuse. The direction indicators have a fuse in the fuse box.

Examination

If the turn signals on one side work faster than the other, then the bulb on the "fast" side is faulty or there is an open circuit.

In all other cases, the relay is usually the cause of the fault.

The turn signal relay connection terminals are marked:
  • terminal 31 is ground (minus, common in the electrical system of the car);
  • terminal 49 – relay input (plus is always attached), terminal 49a – relay output;
  • terminal C leads to the control lamp on the instrument panel, in the case of a towing hitch (additional equipment) there may be an additional terminal C2 for the trailer contrast lamp.

1. If you don't have a new relay at hand, connect terminals 49 and 49a with a thin wire.

Attention! Do not damage the sensitive relay contacts. Bend the ends of the wire before connecting so that there are no sharp edges. Reinstall the faulty relay. Its contacts are so long that this can be done, despite the jumper.

2. Turn on the ignition. If you now turn on the direction indicator, the corresponding direction indicators will light up with a constant light. By turning the direction indicator on and off, you can set the rhythm, but without delay, you must install a new relay.

3. If the turn signals do not light despite the jumper, the turn signal switch or the voltage supply conductor is faulty.
