1. If the brake light does not come on, first check the fuse in the fuse box.
2. If the fuse is OK, check the brake light bulbs and replace them if necessary.
3. If the brake light bulbs are in good condition, check the brake light switch. It is located on the brake pedal unit. When you press the brake pedal, a push pin comes out of the switch. The contact closes and the brake light comes on.
4. Check the brake light switch. To do this, remove the guard above the pedal. Disconnect the plug from the switch.
5. Turn off the ignition.
6. Connect both contacts of the plug with a jumper. If the brake light comes on, the switch is faulty.
7. Replace the brake light switch.
