Loosen the hub bolt.
Caution: The vehicle must not stand on its wheels. After loosening the bolt, the hub bearing may be damaged by the weight of the vehicle. If it is necessary to roll the vehicle with the drive shaft removed, the outer joint must first be installed in the hub and the hub bolt tightened to 120 Nm.
Remove the lower noise-insulating casing. Remove the wheel. Unscrew the nuts "arrows".

Disconnect the triangular lever from the ball joint and, accordingly, from the steering knuckle. Unscrew its struts from the stabilizer (on both sides). Slide the outer CV joint out of the wheel hub. Secure the drive shaft from falling. Assemble the drive shaft puller "T10382". To remove the shaft with the ball CV joint "1", the puller should be assembled so that the recess of the arrow-plate -T10382/1 is facing the screws T10382/2-. Connect the assembled drive shaft puller "T10382" and the inertial puller -VW 771- to each other.
Instructions: To remove the drive shaft from the gearbox using the "T10382" puller, it is necessary to move back the shock absorber strut with all the attachments.

Pull back the shock absorber strut with all the attachments, securing it with the "T10036" belt, for example, relative to the cantilever arm of the lift. The strut should be pulled back so far that the "T10382" puller can be installed parallel to the drive shaft.

Install the puller "T10382" and press the drive shaft. Remove the drive shaft.

Installation
Remove paint residue and/or traces of corrosion from the threads/splines of the outer CV joint. Install a new retaining ring in the groove of the gearbox axle shaft. Apply universal grease -G 060 735 A2- to the splines of the axle shaft. Place the CV joint ball on the splines of the gearbox axle shaft. Insert the drive shaft into the joint until it stops. Then "tug" the joint all the way onto the gearbox axle shaft.
Instructions: It is strictly forbidden to use a hammer or other impact tools!
Check the reliability of the CV joint retaining ring by pulling the joint out of the gearbox.
Caution: When performing this check, pull only on the joint, not the drive shaft.
Remove the "T10038" belt. Insert the splined end of the outer CV joint as deeply as possible into the splined hole of the wheel hub. Screw the ball joint to the triangular lever "arrows".
Instructions: Check the boot for damage or kinks.
Install the lower noise insulation casing. Tighten the hub bolt.
Instructions: The car should not be standing on its wheels, otherwise the wheel bearings will be damaged.
Install the wheel and tighten its mounting bolts.
