Removing
1. Raise the front of the vehicle to relieve the front axle.
2. Loosen the axle shaft nut.
3. Mark the mounting position of the ball joint bolts on the lower arm.
On vehicles from 13" tires
4. Remove bolts 1 and 2 (pic. 9.2).
On vehicles from 14" tires
5. Turn off a bolt 1 fastenings of a support of a brake support (pic. 9.3). Loosen screws 2 and 3.
For all vehicles
6. Turn the wheel outward and lock it in this position (pic. 9.4).
7. Remove the ball joint.
Installation
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Axial clearance check
9. Move the ball joint with force up and down (pic. 9.5).
Radial clearance check
10. Rock the bottom of the wheel in and out (pic. 9.6).
11. There should be no excessive beating in both tests. Observe the ball joint during the test.
Tightening torques, Nm
Ball joint to the lower arm - 35.
Ball joint to the steering knuckle - 50.
Nut for fastening the axle shaft to the steering knuckle - 265.
Bolt of fastening of a support of a brake support - 125.
