Removal
1. Raise the front of the vehicle to relieve weight from the front axle.
2. Loosen the axle shaft mounting nut.
On vehicles with 13-inch tires
4. Unscrew bolt 1 (Fig. 9.7). Unscrew nut 2 securing the anti-roll bar connecting rod.
On vehicles with 14-inch tires
5. Unscrew bolt 1 of the brake caliper support and bolt 2 of the steering knuckle (Fig. 9.8). Unscrew nut 3 of the anti-roll bar connecting rod.
6. Disconnect the lower arm together with the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
7. Remove the axle shaft from the steering knuckle and hang it up.
8. Turn the wheel outward and lock it in this position (fig. 9.4).
9. Unscrew bolts 1 and 2 and remove the lower arm (Fig. 9.9).
Installation
10. Install the lower arm and screw in bolts 1 and 2 (Fig. 9.10).
11. Attach the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
On vehicles with 13-inch tires
12. Tighten bolt 1 (Fig. 9.7). Tighten nut 2 securing the anti-roll bar connecting rod.
On vehicles with 14-inch tires
13. Tighten bolt 1 of the brake caliper support and bolt 2 with the nut (Fig. 9.8). Tighten nut 3 of the anti-roll bar connecting rod.
For all cars
14. Lower the vehicle until the wheels touch the surface.
15. Attach the axle shaft to the hub.
