Loosen the hub bolt. Remove the wheel. Loosen the "arrow" nuts. Slightly pull the drive shaft out of the wheel hub. Remove the ball joint from the wishbone, while tilting the steering knuckle outward. Bend the wishbone down as far as necessary.

Install the ball joint puller - 3287 A-, as shown in the figure, and press out the ball joint.
Instructions: Place engine and transmission jack -VAG 1383 A- or similar device underneath (to prevent accidents caused by the fall of a heavy puller when pressing out a ball joint). To protect the threads, leave the ball joint nut threaded onto the top few turns of the pin thread.
Installation
Remove the drive shaft from the wheel hub. Insert the ball joint pin into the hole in the steering knuckle. Install a new self-locking nut, holding the ball joint pin from turning with an internal torx key "T40". Insert the drive shaft into the wheel hub. Tighten the nuts "arrows".

Instructions: Check the boot for damage or kinks.
Install the wheel and tighten its mounting bolts. Tighten the hub bolt.
Instructions: The car should not be standing on its wheels, otherwise the wheel bearings will be damaged.
Tightening torques

| Drive shaft to hub. Use only new bolt | 70 Nm and turn 90° |
