Repair of rear brake calipers (VW Tiguan 1)

When carrying out repair work, install all parts from the repair kit. Use only alcohol to clean the brakes. New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and air has been bled from them. Apply a thin layer of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to the walls of the brake cylinder holes, pistons and seals. In case of repair, before installing the brake caliper (without brake pads) it is imperative to perform preliminary pumping.

  • 1 - Brake caliper, after repairing the brake caliper, perform its preliminary bleeding
  • 2 - Hexagon head screw, self-locking, 35 Nm, replace, when removing and installing it is necessary to fix the guides from turning
  • 3 - Protective cap
  • 4 - Bleed nipple, 10 Nm, lightly lubricate the thread with mounting paste G 052 150 A2 before tightening
  • 5 - Screw Togh, 12 Nm
  • 6 - Parking brake actuator motor
  • 7 - Sealing ring
  • 8 - Guide pins, lubricate before installing the protective cap
  • 9 - Sealing cuff, put on the guide and fixed in the bracket
  • 10 - Bracket with guides and sealing cuffs, supplied in grease assembled with guides as a single spare part, if sealing cuffs or guides are damaged, install a repair kit. When installing guides, use the supplied tube of grease
  • 11 - Sealing cuff, placed with the outer edge on the piston
  • 12 - Piston, first apply a little assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to the piston
  • 13 - Sealing ring
  • 14 - Automatic adjustment mechanism running nut
