2. Remove the tray (see section 8).
3. Loosen the bolts and remove the fan impeller from the pulley at the front end of the crankshaft.
4. Unscrew and remove the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt. To prevent the crankshaft from turning while removing the bolt, either engage high gear and the handbrake, or remove the starter and insert a large screwdriver or metal rod into the flywheel ring gear.
5. Remove the pulley from the crankshaft.
6. Loosen and remove the oil pump mounting screws. Remove the pump from the front surface of the engine. Remove the old pump gasket.
7. The oil pump can be disassembled and inspected (see section 19).
8. The pump is installed in reverse order. Install a new flange gasket and a new pump seal, after lubricating the seal lips with grease. After installing the pump in place, check that the drive pins fit into the driven rings of the pump (see photos).
