Ignition timing adjustment (VW Lt 28)

1. The ignition timing is checked and adjusted using a stroboscope, which must be connected in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Bring the engine to normal operating temperature and let it run at 850-950 rpm.

3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the distributor and plug it.

4. Direct the strobe light into the hole next to the clutch housing flange. In the light of the lamp, the mark on the flywheel should appear aligned with the mark on the clutch housing.

5. If the marks do not align, loosen the distributor clamp screw and turn the distributor so that the marks align. Tighten the clamping screw again.

6. The ignition is now adjusted to the correct moment before TDC. The "0" mark on the flywheel is the TDC mark and should not be paid attention to.

7. Turn off the engine, disconnect the strobe light and reconnect the vacuum tube to the carburetor.
