79. When installing the cap, align the spring pins with the center of the wheel and snap the cap into place.

Wheels and Tires - General Precautions and Maintenance

Wheels and tires shouldn't cause any major problems, provided you check them regularly for wear and damage.

Check your tire pressure regularly. The check must be carried out on cold tires. Checking tire pressure when tires are hot will give inflated results.

Too low tire pressure will cause the tires to overheat due to excessive deflection, and the tread will not properly adhere to the road surface, leading to excessive tire wear.

If the tire pressure is too high, the center of the tread will wear out quickly. In addition, the tires' grip on the road deteriorates, the car becomes more "stiff" and the risk of a tire blowout in the event of an accidental impact increases.

Periodically, the wheels should be removed and their inner and outer surfaces cleaned of dirt.

Wheels and tires must be properly balanced to avoid premature wear not only of the tires themselves, but also of the steering and suspension components. Wheel imbalance is usually indicated by vibration of the entire car body, although this vibration is usually more noticeable through the steering wheel. It should be noted that wear of suspension or steering components can in turn lead to excessive tire wear. Vibration can also be caused by damaged discs, improperly adjusted wheel bearings, etc. In this case, you won't be able to eliminate the vibration by balancing.

Overall tire wear is largely determined by driving style: sharp braking and acceleration, and high-speed turns contribute to faster tire wear. Wear can be made more even by rotating the tires from time to time. Uneven wear on the front tires can be caused by incorrect wheel alignment.

There are certain restrictions on the use of different types of tires on a vehicle. Firstly, it is prohibited to use different types of tires on the same axle. It is also not recommended to install different types of tires on the front and rear wheels: the only acceptable combination is to use bias-ply tires on the front wheels and radial-ply tires on the rear wheels. When using only radial ply tires, textile ply tires should be used on the front wheels and steel ply tires on the rear wheels.
