List of parts and assemblies with notes on installation work (pic. VC2.042):
1. Piston pin circlip.
2. Piston pin:
- in case of difficult installation, heat the piston to about 60'C;
- remove and install using a mandrel,
3. Piston:
- when reusing the piston, the installation position and belonging to the cylinder should be marked;
- the arrow on the piston crown points to the side of the V-ribbed belt pulley;
- to install the piston in the cylinder, use a special crimp for piston rings.
4. Compression rings:
- ring locks should be located at an angle of 120 * relative to each other;
- remove and install compression rings using piston ring expanders;
- marking «TOR» must face the piston crown.
5. Oil scraper rings:
- remove and install composite component oil scraper rings carefully by hand;
- height clearance cannot be measured.
6. Connecting rod;
- replace only the entire set;
- mark belonging to the cylinder (at point A);
- installation position: marks (IN) point towards the V-ribbed belt pulley.
7. Connecting rod bearing caps:
- in the manufacture, the connector of the cover and connecting rod is performed by breaking off the cover from the connecting rod. Therefore, the cover fits only to its connecting rod and only in one position. The fracture surface must be carefully protected from damage.
8. Connecting rod bearing cap screw:
- M7x0.75: 20 Nm + tighten 1/4 turn. (90°);
- M8 x1:30 Nm + tighten 1/4 turn. (90°);
- when installing the screw should be replaced with a new one;
- lubricate the thread and seating surface under the screw head;
- to measure the radial clearance in the bearing, the screw should be tightened to the specified tightening torque, but not tightened in the angle.
9. Cylinder block:
- checking the diameter of the cylinders (see below).
10. Connecting rod bearing shells:
- run-in bearing shells should be installed in their places;
- the liner is installed in the connecting rod in the center of the seat;
- the radial clearance in the bearing should be measured using a Plasticage measuring gauge.
- Clearance in connecting rod bearing:
- for a new engine: 0.020-0.061 mm;
- with maximum allowable wear: 0.091 mm.
- When measuring the radial clearance, the crankshaft must not be rotated.
