Disabling the front and side airbags for the front passenger



NOTE: When installing a rear-facing child restraint system in the front seat, the front passenger front airbag and side airbag must be deactivated.


When the front passenger airbag is deactivated, the side airbag is also deactivated. All other airbags and curtains remain operational.

Turn off the ignition.

Reverse activation of airbags



Turn off the ignition.

Turn the ignition key to the special switch in the center console in the direction of travel.

Make sure that when the ignition is on, the indicator lamp "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" the light in the center console is not on.

ATTENTION: Airbags for the front passenger should only be switched off when, as an exception, a child safety seat is installed in the front seat with the child's back facing the direction of travel.


Child seat attachment using the "ISOFIX" system



When installing and removing a child seat, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Move the front passenger seat fully rearward in the longitudinal direction.
  • Insert the child seat into the ISOFIX eyes until you hear the child seat lock into place.
  • To check the reliability of the fastening, try to pull it out by holding the seat from both sides.
