Removing
Remove engine (see section "Removal and installation of the engine").
If the old clutch is to be installed again, then before removing the pressure plate, mark it and the flywheel with a scriber or cutter.
Unscrew the hexagon bolts on the pressure plate alternately crosswise one or two turns until they are completely unscrewed.
In order to prevent the flywheel from turning when the bolts are loosened, fix it at the bolt with a wide screwdriver.
Remove pressure and driven discs.
Blow out the flywheel from the inside or wipe it with a rag soaked in kerosene.
Examination
Before installing, check the fastening of the diaphragm spring between the pressure plate and the cover for cracks, as well as for the strength of the riveted joints. Replace damaged clutch.
Check the ends of the diaphragm springs. Run-in marks up to 0.3 mm deep are acceptable.
Check the working surface of the pressure plate for cracks, burn marks and wear. Discs with deflection up to 0.3 mm are serviceable. Checking is done with a ruler and a probe.
The workshop can also check the runout of the clutch disc. This check is only necessary if the clutch is to be installed again and it did not work properly before. The end runout of the driven disk should not exceed 0.5 mm.
Check the gearbox input shaft splines and coat them with M0S2 based paste.
Check clutch release bearing.
Attention! The release bearing is maintenance free. In no case should it be washed with gasoline or other solvents.
Wipe the bearing with a clean cloth. Replace the bearing that makes noise during operation.
Apply a thin layer of paste based on M0S2 to the bearing guide bush.
Lubricate the needle bearing in the flywheel hollow bolt with multipurpose grease (amount of lubricant - 0.2 cm3), after cleaning it up.
Moisten the felt ring with engine oil, remove the leaked oil.
Installation
Insert clutch disc and pressure plate. To center the driven disk, use either a suitable rod or the input shaft from the old gearbox.
When installing the old clutch, take into account the marks on the pressure plate and flywheel.
Tighten clamping bolts evenly and diagonally to 25 Nm (2.5 kgcm). While tightening, secure the flywheel with a screwdriver.
Install the engine.
Adjust clutch pedal free play.
