Description of the clutch design (VW Beetle)

The clutch is mounted on the engine flywheel. Its main parts are the pressure and driven disks. The primary shaft of the gearbox contains a maintenance-free clutch release bearing, and the outer lever of the clutch release shaft contains a clutch cable.

Main elements of the clutch: 1 - bolt (unscrew alternately, crosswise; tighten to a torque of 25 Nm (2.5 kgsm)); 2 - pressure plate (in Kafer 1600 cars); 3 - pressure plate (in Kafer 1200 and 1300 vehicles); 4-driven disk
