The float needle valve regulates the flow of fuel into the carburetor. When the needle valve is closed, fuel should not flow into the carburetor.

Removal

Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

Remove the throttle return spring. Disconnect the electrical wire from the automatic starting unit.

If it is necessary to completely remove the upper part of the carburetor, disconnect the fuel hose from it.

(The original can be found at: VWManual.ru)

Remove the 5 bolts from the top of the carburetor and remove the top.

Unscrew the float needle valve from the top and remove it together with the seal.

Examination

When blowing from above, the needle valve should not let air through if you lightly press its control rod from below with your finger. The rod itself should move easily.

Installation

Screw in the needle valve with the correct seal (see table at the end of the chapter) and tighten (not too tight). The seal must be installed under the valve in the center.

Install a new carburetor cover gasket, install the top of the carburetor and secure it with the five bolts.

Install the throttle return spring, connect the electrical wires to the automatic starting unit.

Connect the fuel hose and secure it with a clamp.

Install the air filter, connect the ground wire to the battery.
