Since March 1978, the air damper clearance in the Kafer 1200 carburetor can be adjusted. This value must always be checked and adjusted if the warmed-up engine runs unsteadily. The air damper clearance must also be adjusted after a major overhaul of the carburetor. Additionally, cover N 113 129 227 A with adjustable option can also be installed.

Remove the automatic starting unit cover.

Press the vacuum diaphragm pull lever until it stops (see arrow A). Close the air damper (upper valve in the carburetor) and check the gap size using a 2 mm diameter drill.

Set the air damper clearance using the adjusting screw (see arrows B). The proper value is 2.0±0.2 mm.

Install the automatic starting unit cover.
