Since March 1978, the choke gap can be adjusted in the carburetor of the Kafer 1200. This value must always be checked and adjusted when the warm engine runs erratically. The air damper gap must also be adjusted after a major overhaul of the carburetor. In addition, cover N 113 129 227 A can also be installed with the possibility of adjustment.
Remove the starter cover.
Press the vacuum diaphragm lever to the stop (see arrow A). Close air damper (top choke in carburetor) and check the gap with a 2 mm drill.
Set the air damper gap with the adjusting screw (see arrows B). The proper value is 2.0±0.2 mm.
Install the starter cover.
