If there are any problems with the fuel supply, the fuel system should be checked in the following order.

Check if there is fuel in the fuel tank.

Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel pump to the carburetor. Turn the crankshaft with the starter and see if fuel flows out of the hose.

If fuel leaks:
  • Unscrew the main jet (under the carburetor). If fuel flows out of the float chamber, check the jet for leaks.
  • If the float chamber is empty, check the float needle valve for patency, as well as the fuel pump supply pressure.

If fuel does not leak:
  • Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel pump.
  • If fuel is leaking from it, check the fuel pump for leaks; if necessary, remove the pump and check it.
  • If fuel does not leak, blow out the fuel line, remove the fuel tank and clean it.
