Ignition or instrument and starter switch (VW Passat B4)

The ignition switch or the instrument and starter switch with anti-theft device has the following three positions:

• position "1": the key is removed, the anti-theft device is activated. The power is on for the clock, hazard warning lights, interior light, luggage compartment light, parking light and side light;
• position "2": the anti-theft device is switched off, the power supply to the ignition circuits or instruments and auxiliary equipment is switched on (the circuit supplied from terminal "X");
• position "3": the starter and auxiliary equipment power are switched on, except for equipment powered from terminal "X".
