Anti-skid chains (VW Passat B3)

The use of anti-skid chains is permitted only on the wheels of the drive axle. For vehicles with all-wheel drive, chains are generally not required. If chains are prescribed for driving on certain sections (passes), they must be mounted only on the front wheels. Remove the wheel caps before mounting.

With anti-skid chains installed, you cannot drive faster than 50 km/h. To drive on roads without snow or ice, anti-skid chains must be removed.

All models must use snow chains with the specified link size, which protrude no more than 15 mm above the surface of the tyres and on the inside of the tyres, including the chain lock. Only snow chains approved by VW must be used.
