On vehicles with 4-cylinder engines
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Disconnect the wires from the starter terminals.
Loosen the bolts securing the rear starter bracket.
Remove the front starter mounting bolts or nuts.
Remove the starter.
The starter is installed in the reverse order of removal.
On cars with 5-cylinder engines
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Disconnect the wires from the starter terminals.
Loosen the bolts securing the starter to the power unit.
Remove the starter.
The starter is installed in the reverse order of removal.

A - Bosch brand cars with 4-cylinder engines;
B - Bosch brand cars with 5-cylinder carburetor engine;
B - Peris-Rhone brand cars with S-cylinder carburetor engine;
G - cars with 5-cylinder engines
1 - starter assembly;
2 - traction relay;
3 — drive lever;
4 - front cover;
5 - drive with overrunning clutch;
6 — gearbox;
7 - anchor;
8 — housing with stator poles;
9 — brush holder;
10 — back cover;
11 — cap.
