16. Move the gearbox control lever to the position «R» and loosen the bolt 2 fastening the tip 1 of the cable (see illustration).
17. Move the control lever back and forth without moving it out of position «R». In this case, the cable is set to the optimal position.
18. Move lever 3 selector shaft (see illustration 2.16) into position «R», by sliding it back.
To make sure the gearbox is in position «R», jack up the vehicle and try turning the front wheels. They must not rotate.
19. Tighten bolt 2 (see illustration 2.16).
Attention! The transmission control lever may remain locked, for example, if power is lost to the lock solenoid valve. In this case, you need to do the following.
20. Disconnect the gear lever cover and move it to the side (see illustration).
21. Depress the brake pedal or apply the parking brake.
22. Press the yellow plastic wedge, as shown by the arrow in illustration 2.20, and remove the lever from the position «R».
