Front body panel fastening elements

- 1 - front cross member with structural parts;
- 2 - bolts 2 pcs., 8 Nm;
- 3 - hood lock release cable;
- 4 - channel in the sidebar;
- 5 - radiator and condenser;
- 6 - bolts 4 pcs., 8 Nm;
- 7 - bumper beam;
- 8 - bolts 4 pcs., 50 Nm;
- 9 - special tool 3411. If there is no special tool, you can use a bolt M8x160 mm. A washer with a diameter of 35 mm must be installed under the bolt head
Installing the front cross panel in the service position
1. Remove the front bumper.
2. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release.
3. On the right and left side of the front panel, unscrew the two bolts (8) and screw in the VW-3411 tool instead of the bolts.
4. Remove the bolts securing the top and front of the front panel.
5. Move the front panel forward using the special tool VW-3411.
Removal the front crossmember
1. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the headlights.

4. Remove the front bumper.
5. If equipped, disconnect the headlight washer hose from the T-piece.
6. Unscrew the radiator and condenser from the front crossmember and use soft wire to secure them to the engine.
Warning: Do not kink the condenser lines.
7. Remove the front cross member.
Installation
1. Install the front cross member.
2. Adjust the position of the front cross member in relation to the vehicle fenders and secure the front cross member with the bolts, tightening them to the required torque.
3. Install the radiator and condenser and secure them with bolts.
4. Install the front bumper and connect the hose to the headlight washer.
5. Connect the hood release cable.
6. Connect the electrical connectors.
