The middle console extension must be removed before the handbrake lever can be disconnected. The handbrake cables must first be disconnected.
Some details of the operation deserve special mention.
There is a locking lug under the handbrake lever handle 2; you should pull it down before removing the handle.
To remove the handbrake lever cover 6. pull it forward after the handbrake handle has been removed.
After reassembling the lever, the handbrake should be adjusted.
