1. A voltmeter must be connected to the battery terminals (the positive terminal of the voltmeter to the positive terminal of the battery, the negative terminal to the negative terminal).
2. Disconnect the wires from the spark plugs.
3. Start the starter (no more than 10 seconds) and calculate the magnitude of the voltage.
During start-up, the voltage should not drop below 10 V with a charged battery (electrolyte temperature from 20°C). If the voltage during the test drops below 10 V, and the electrolyte density in individual cells is different, the battery is damaged.
